HCI Rally to the Ironbirdge Gorge
27th – 30th April (4 nights)
This four night Rally is being held in one of Shropshire’s most beautiful and interesting areas and is aimed mainly at cyclists and walkers. The scenic countryside boasts ten museums linked to a variety of industries ,including the famous Blists Hill Victorian Town and of course the first iron bridge in the world, spanning the glorious River Severn. One ticket for £20.50 allows you to visit all museums as many times as you like in one year. Bridgnorth with its 19th century funicular is also accessible by bus from the site.
The downside is that this intimate site only has 12 places. Two places have already been allocated to the RO’s and the ARO’s Nigel and Teresa Goodricke. Nigel and Teresa live in the area so know just where to ride and walk.
The cost for the four nights is £90 as this is a full facility site with EHU and all amenities, all be it on a small scale. Please note this does not include the ticket to the museums.
As there are limited places on this so rally applications will be on a ‘First Come, First Served’ basis and acknowledgement will be by email.

HCI's 30th Annual Dinner Dance & AGM
12th – 17th May (5 nights)
Springfields Event & Conference Centre, Spalding, Lincs, PE12 6ET
Our 30th Dinner Dance Rally returns in 2020 to this very popular location at Spalding. As it is our 30th and at Springfields we have extended the rally by one day incorporating an extra nights entertainment and an optional days excursion to visit the newly dedicated Bomber Command Memorial including a possible visit to RAF Coningsby. For those for whom this does not appeal you have the glorious gardens at the Centre along with plenty of shops as well as numerous walks in the area including the town of Spalding.
Some of the highlights of what promises to be an excellent time together :
Tuesday Arrival day and in the evening an informal get together
Wednesday An optional excursion to the newly dedicated Bomber Command Memorial and possibly RAF Coningsby. In the evening a social get together with live entertainment.
Thursday We have the ever popular table top sale and technical forum followed in the evening with the return of the excellent dance band VIVO
Friday We see the return of the interesting “travel Clinic” followed by the AGM where you will have the opportunity to find out how the committee is working for you and the future plans for the club. In the evening there will be a Bavarian Oompah Band courtesy of Hymer UK..
Saturday In the morning we have the quiz and competition results and prize awards with the Gala Dinner Dance in the evening and entertainment by DJ Stef who last year managed to play virtually every single request as well as filling the dance floor for most of the evening. This is your chance to dress up, eat drink and be merry.
As this will be our 30th Dinner Dance – lets make it a big one, rest assured this one will surpass all of the dinner dances the club has held in the past, on our 25th event we had 126 units in attendance I would like to see 150 for this our 30th event and this would only represent 42% of our membership so come on all of you that are in the 58% bracket don`t miss out.
Unfortunately there is no EHU at Springfields but there is water and a CDP.
It is your club if you want to know what is going on, have a say on our future but more importantly have a great time come and join us. We look forward to seeing you there.

A cycle path runs from the site and nearby St. Austell Railway Station will give you entry to Poldark Country.

Anthony and Eileen Pickering will be leading an HCI Rally to the 90th FICC International Rally. This 10 day Rally with the FICC is being organised by the A.C.T.Italia Federazione Nazionale and will be held in Ostia Antica, on the outskirts of Rome, Italy.
There is a full program of events including a daily excursion programme with visits to Bracciano, Castelgandolfo, Tivoli, Viterbo and Roma by night. In addition, several “street parties” will be held by various clubs and countries, giving the rally its unique international atmosphere. Full details of the rally can be viewed online at ficc2020.actitalia.it/en/.
With the ongoing uncertainty over Brexit, and consequently the exchange rate, all costs will initially be based on an exchange rate of £1 = €1, and apply to both the rally fees and optional excursions. This will make the cost for the rally £300 for 2 adults, motorhome, towed car and electricity plus HCI events.
The registration form gives all prices in Euros. Please complete the form as if paying in Euros i.e. 2 Adults @ €140 per adult = €280. Please also select any optional excursions that you would like to attend.
If the exchange rate has improved reducing the rally and/or excursion prices, those who attended the rally will receive a refund, net of bank exchange transfer fees, meet & greet, wine, coffee & cakes etc and donation to HCI.

Sue and Eddie are pleased to announce their Deutsche Rally for 2020. We will be exploring the wine regions of the Mosel, a taste of the Black Forest, an exclusive tour of the Hymer Factory and onto the romantic Rhine culminating in a dinner cruise on the Rhine whilst enjoying the Rhine in Flames firework display.
We meet up in Valkenburg in the South Dutch province of Limburg, here we will enjoy a group meal together in a local restaurant and in the morning we will learn of the history of this area with a guided tour of one of the many caves. We then head South staying close to the City of Luxembourg where you will have the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful City.
From the City we move on to the more rural Mosel region of Germany, introducing ourselves to this picturesque wine area. Staying overnight on a vineyard we will enjoy a meal and wine tasting before moving on to Koblenz where the Mosel joins the Rhine.
We then experience one of the major wine festivals of the area, spread over 5 days we will enjoy parades, music & song, firework displays and of course the tasting of the local wines including a visit to a winegrowers cellar.
We head further South after this five day spectacular visiting Germany`s historic and romantic city of Rothenburg ob der Tauber before reaching Bad Waldsee home of the Hymer Factory. Here we have arranged an exclusive tour of the factory, lunch and then the Erwin Hymer Museum.
The next day we visit and stay at a local brewery where we will be sampling its products and enjoying a typical Bayerische meal. From here we travel through the Black Forest along the shores of Lake Constance before travelling North to the Rhine region. Enroute-route we will stay on a vineyard tasting its wine of course.
We arrive and stay on the banks of the River Rhine where you can watch the many ships and hotel boats passing back and forth. The culmination of this tour is a dinner cruise from our campsite whilst enjoying the spectacular firework display of the “Rhine in Flames”. The tour finishes with a group meal in a local restaurant.
A detailed itinerary is available from the Rally Officer.
Please Note: Due to the restrictions on several campsites we will have to limit this tour to 15 motorhomes and therefore it will be strictly on a first come first served basis.
