HCI Silverhill Woodland Retreats Rally

Sunday 23rd April – to Friday 28th April 2023 (5 nights)

Paul and Doreen Holt with Dave and Linda Stonier cordially invite you to join them at this 5 Star Campsite at Teversal in Nottinghamshire.
This will be a relaxed rally with the opportunity to explore the local area, so bring your bikes and your walking gear to Silverhill; walkers and cyclists will be in for a treat! The site leads straight out onto Silverhill Wood and the Teversal Trails. Created by the formidable Bess of Hardwick in the late 1500s, Hardwick Hall is an Elizabethan masterpiece now owned by the National Trust. Hardwick’s stunning halls and beautiful landscape have been created by a cast of thousands, each with a story to tell.
We are situated by the side of the Five Pits trail and we will be cycling to the Pleasley Pit Colliery Museum and Café. There is also a very nice pub called The Carnarvon, a short walk from site and a Community Hub which we have hired for 2 nights. Public Transport also runs from this point and takes you to Sutton in Ashfield which is the local hub and the return bus will drop you off at site if you ask the driver.
We have booked 20 pitches for the rally and these will be all together. The toilet block on the site is one of the nicest you will see with all individual rooms.
The rally fee will be £145 for 5 nights.

Llangollen is a historic town on the River Dee close to the English border. Thomas Telford’s Llangollen Canal, with the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct runs along the valley, guarded by an Iron Age hill fort, Medieval Abbey and a ruined castle. The preserved Llangollen Steam Railway is just a step away.

Some of the highlights of what I am sure will be an excellent time together: –

  • Wednesday: Arrival, Evening – HCI informal get together.
  • Thursday: Free time, Evening – Games night.
  • Friday: Morning – Table-top Sale, (a chance to sell your unwanted camping associated items or pick up a bargain). Afternoon – AGM, Evening – Chinese Auction

Attend the Annual General Meeting on Friday afternoon and have your say..
Evening events will be held in the Main Hall. There are numerous bars, cafes and restaurants available in Llangollen. Parking will be on a mix of hardstanding and grass.
There will be LIMITED electric hook-ups. Own Sanitation is essential however, limited showers and toilets are available.
Bring own drinks each evening EXCEPT Saturday evening when a PAY BAR will be open

Directions to the venue:-
From the North – Take the A483 from Wrexham to Ruabon, then the A539 to Llangollen. Follow on past the bridge, Railway Stn and in half a mile on the right is the entrance.
From the South – From Oswestry, take the A5 to Chirk, continuing along the A5 (turning left after Chirk) to Llangollen. Turn right down Castle St, over the bridge and turn left. In half a mile on the right is the entrance. Look out for HCI signs.
